It's Finally Here!!

After a LONG break, we've finally made it! LOST begins tonight. Jason and I have been looking forward to this premier for a long time. Will they be saved? All the twists and turns that will keep us both guessing. We absolutly can't wait. So tonight may be a very early bed time, as we unplug the phone and snuggle up on the couch to take it all in.

Take that!

Jacob and Jeffrey have been fighting with each other a little more than they use too. I think it is really more of Jeffrey finally fighting back. Well today the kiddos were at it again, and of course there was some pushing. Jacob thought Jeffrey stunk and pushed him away (his diaper very much needed changing). Jeffrey fell backwards and of course started crying. This is where it got funny. Jeffrey suddenly straddled Jacob's face sitting on him. I couldn't help but laugh at Jacob with Jeffrey's poopy diaper on his face. Almost as if Jeffrey was saying "oh yeah.. take that" Of course I let Jeffrey get his revenge for a second or two, the poor kid has been pushed around his whole life.
After a few pleas for help from Jake and an "eewww Jeff stinks" I pulled Jeffrey off Jake's face and went to change his very poopy diaper.

Revenge can be so sweet...or smelly

Octopus

Some days I truly wonder were Jacob gets some of his phrases. As quick witted as they can be sometimes, I know it's not something he just came up with on his own..could it? Where he heard this one, no one will know.

Me: "Jacob grab your backpack, here take your coat, and don't forget to grab your art project. Can you hold the door for Jeffrey?"

Jacob: (with a stern look and his hands on hips) "Come on MOM! What do you think I am? and Octopus?

He remembered that an Octopus had eight arms! I'm so proud. Maybe next time when he rambling off all the things HE needs, I will remind him, that I too am not an octopus.

Word of the day...Learn it, Know it

Well today has been another learning day. As you know I have many of them. Recently Jeffrey had a ear infection that never fully healed causing his eardrum to rupture, so the kids and I have been making several trips to the doctor to be sure this situation is taken care of and he heals . A little while back Jason and I had been discussing the possibility of Jeffrey needing tubes in the near future and at the same time we also discussed Jacob needing his Adenoids removed due to his constant snoring, and mouth breathing.
So today we were on our way to the kids doctor, again, when this conversation took place.

me: We need to hurry Jeffrey needs his ears checked out again.
Jacob: Jeffey needs his ears looked at again? Why are they yucky bloody again?
me: yeah the poor little dude, his ears are yucky again.
Jacob: Are they going to give me a shot?
me: oh no honey! Today is Jeff again.
Jacob: but when are they going to get my organoids?
me: Organoids?
Jacob: yea we will they get my organoids? Today?

It took me a half second to get that he was trying to say Adenoids and that he must have been in hear shot of my discussion with Jason.
So after I wipe the tears of laughter from my face I did response to his question with a "no not today Jacob" only to hear
"is it the next day?".

Organoids: Jacob's mass of lymphoid tissue situated at the very back of the nose, in the roof of the nasopharnyx, where the nose blends into the mouth.

If I had only known

Today I discovered something I wish I had known earlier. Jacob needs sunglasses to clean his playroom.
me: Jacob we need to get you playroom picked up before daddy gets home.
Jake: ok (with a sigh)
next thing I knew Jake had picked up all of his toys and I only asked him once. How could this be?
me: Wow Jacob you really did a great job picking up your toys, and you where sooo fast!
Jacob: It's because I am wearing my sunglasses mom. See, they're hot wheels with racing stripes. It makes me go fast.
I will not be misplacing those glasses EVER

Jeffrey of course made me laugh today as well. I NEVER give Jeffrey cereal with milk in it. I always give him dry cereal with a glass of milk. Well today Jeffrey decided that he wanted a little milk on his cereal. He placed an "apple jack" on the spout of his cup and then took a drink, Carefully placing his mouth around the piece of cereal and the spout of his cup. He figured out the combo was pretty good together. It reminded me of people taking shots with lemons.

Disney World

Many of you know that Jason and I took the kids to Disney World in October of 2007. I thought that I would share some of our memories with you. Jacob for some reason kept getting singled out to participate in whatever ride or movie thingy we were seeing. At Epcot he was picked out of the audience to do "turtle talk" with Crush (as well as Jason I might add), at Magic Kingdom he was picked by the monsters of Monstropollis to participate in their show. Then one night we went to a Pirate adventure dinner, where he was selected to become a captain of the ship. He went on the large ship and was made an honorary captain. Then my favorite and his too I think was when he "took on" Darth Vader in his Jedi training.

Jeffrey was able to receive his very first haircut! He was so brave for the big event. In Disney they give you a pair of Mickey ears when you are done with the stitching of "first haircut" on the back. We (mainly me) thought he looked so much older when he was done (he really didn't, its just a mental thing). This video is of the barber trying to butter up Jeff so he won't cry. She put stickers all over him and on his shoes (so he would look down). Great idea!

So when all was said and done, here is how it turned out...

Just Kidding....
What a great trip. There many more highlights from the trip but it would take all day.

First Timer

OK So since several people I know blog, I thought that I might give it a try. This way, friends can check in on the happenings of the Fincham family.
I will slowly try to get this blog thing up and running. I will make an attempt to blog at least three times a week, but you know me. Check back every now and then as I will be posting photos and making adjustments

Today Jason left for his annual Sherwin Williams national meeting in Dallas. He will be gone until Thurs. Of course since he left at 8:25 this morning Jeffrey threw up at 8:45. This is usually how it works. I guess I should have expected it. Jacob has been a little afraid of getting too close to Jeff and being puked on (hmmmm I wonder where he gets this).
