The sickness has spread...

Jacob has the now even more contagious "flu". I think it's called Guitaroanaheroaddictivo, or something like that(I may have spelled it wrong). It's a new illness that doctors are just now diagnosing. Be careful you could be next!

Jacob was caught in action on the first video. Then he thought that was actually pretty cool, SO he wanted me to video him. I guess so he can look back and critique himself and improve in his technique. Apparently "note accuracy" is on the back burner, while his dance moves are seeing some great improvement. GO Jake!! YOU ROCK!!

Happy Birthday Jeffrey!

Can you believe it? My baby is now 2! He is now a real toddler. It seems like only yesterday we grew our family to four. Jeffrey has always been a very different baby right from the start. From the pregnancy to labor and delivery and the first two years of life, but he has fit in just perfectly. What is scary for me now is the thought that I need to really look at the idea of having a third. I really dont want them far apart in age, but am not sure that I can handle a third. I just don't have that many arms, or as Jacob would put it, "I am not an octopus"! What to do? All in favor say "I". Please check out my little guy in his 2 year old video montage. I yuv you! Please remember to pause the music at the end of my blog page.

SPRING!!!!

Thank goodness spring is finally here! I can't wait to spend more time out than in. I can't wait to open the windows to air the house out! Take the kids bike/wagon riding, go to the park without bundling up. Colorado and I seem to have a love/hate thing going on. I love living here but I can't stand the snow. The great thing about Colorado weather in the spring, is that it will warm and sunny one day, than the next it snows. People that love the snow get there share, without the rest of us missing out on the sun. Today is suppose to be 60 degrees outside. Oh how I LOVE the sun! Winter we will see you next time. For now, spring is in the hizhouse.

Read to me please!

I truly love to see the kids interact with each other that dosen't involve beating on each other. It is such a rare event that I thought "tonight I am going to get this on tape", and show Jacob that deep down he really does love his brother. This evening Jacob wanted to read to Jeffrey! It was great to see the two of them on the rocking chair "reading" Jeffry's favorite book. Jacob dosen't really know the words to the book, but has no trouble making up his own. In this particular touch n feel book, there is one page that says to "tickle the fluffy feathers on your cheek". Jacob seems to think the rest of the book is similar in that you touch the book to different parts of the body. I had to take the video in two parts. Enjoy! You May have to pause the music playing by scolling down to the bottom of the page, and hit pause. Oh and be sure to watch part 2nd! I know its out of order. For some reason my camera setting was wrong and these were 95M clips. I had to have photbucket host the videos, therefor they are out of order.

Core Cart Please!

Jacob nearly sent me into cardiac arrest today while we enjoyed a beautiful sunny day at the park. We had a picnic, Jacob rode his bike around, and Jeffrey was running like it was his first time outdoors (since Guitar Hero has been in our lives I won't admit that it just might have been). Jacob was on the swings, pumping his legs as hard as he could and getting higher and higher. Jeffrey was sliding sometimes head first(yikes) down the twisting slide, this, all While I watched closely. I was mainly keeping my eye on Jeffrey making sure he wasn't getting too close to the edge of the play set, reminding him to go "feet first" but trying to give him his space too. Suddenly out of the corner of my eye, I see Jacob dangling on the swing. Holding on for what appeared to be dear life. No longer sitting on the seat of the swing but rather hanging from the chains. As I ran as fast as my legs could carry me the ten feet or so that separated us, Jacob let go and dropped to the ground. With my heart now racing, I picked up Jake, dusted him off, and asked if he were "OK". The other mothers were now looking on probably thinking the same thing I was feeling inside. You know the "good god lady, keep a closer eye on your child". Then Jacob informed me that "I'm OK, I was just like Diego swinging from a vine". Thankfully he was just fine, and it was me that felt the need for a resuscitation.

Guitar Hero

There are some married couples that enjoy a little competition between themselves. Some may say it keeps things fun, as long as it's a "healthy" competition. Some play board games while others have handstand contests. In this house, its all about Guitar Hero. We compete for the honors of high score on any particular song (there are about 50 songs). Jason is really good at this particular game and I can't help but strive to be better than him. Sometimes it gets a little too competitive. Some may call this an "obsession" but what really makes something an obsession? Sure, Jake may sometimes have to get Jeffrey's and his own breakfasts and lunches that day, but I wouldn't call that neglect, it's more like "being a big helper while mom tries to cremate daddy's score". It must be said that on at least one, maybe even two songs, I do hold the high score. Jason has unsuccessfully tried to reclaim his position as the top rocker. Thank you, thank you, please hold your applause. For those of you that have played Guitar Hero, I am hoping you can understand how this game can quickly take over your life. If you are not yet familiar, just come on over you will shortly see. I wonder if they have GHA in the area. My name is Sarah and I am addicted to guitar Hero. I guess admitting you have a problem is the first step. I'm telling you people, I dream this game.
Here is a video clip of Jacob playing air guitar along with me. Yes, my children are a part of my sickness. Jake does know the words to Red Hot Chili Peppers "Suck My Kiss". I know, this is really that bad, I just can't stop. Honestly though, I have been trying to get a picture of the kids dancing to the game and it has proven to be quite difficult. This is a "hidden camera" clip. Jake didn't know I was filming him. I must add, when Jake "rocks" as he calls it, he runs upstairs to put spikes in his hair, and wears his wrist strap that he thinks is so cool. Oh, and the swinging of the arm in circles, his his rendition of a helicopter, which is the name of the song (his favorite).

In this one, Jake is trying to throw "battle power" at me by lifting the neck of his air guitar. It is really funny if you know the game. Again a hidden video.

Shout out!

After a nice conversation with my great friend Lori and her daughter Avery in Las Vegas, I thought it would be good for Jake to give one of his "Las Vegas girlfriends" a shout out. I must say even though I love being home with family, I truly miss my "family" in Vegas. I really have never met such great people in my adult life as I had in Vegas. So to the Pryors, Baileys, and Dunbars I thank you so very much for being such a wonderful part in my life. You will all be forever be in my thoughts. I miss you guys!
